Student Benefits and Recognition:

  • Students engage in specialized learning in their schools and communities with a focus on identifying potential career pathways (college, university, apprenticeship, or labour market) and aligning their education goals withe their interests and skills.
  • Post-secondary and sector partners collaborate with schools to provide opportunities for students to develop essential skills and work habits, and earn certificates which are recognized by a particular economic sector.
  • The ADP allows students to participate in career-relevant learning experiences, create links between education and career applications, explore potential occupations and post-secondary opportunities, learn from mentors in the community, and develop employability skills, such as communication, problem solving, and team work skills.

Community and Sector Partners:

Community and sector partners play and important role by providing community based learning to students.
Community based learning experiences add weight to the curriculum by showing how classroom learning is applied to real world situations, exposing students to a variety of career options. Students benefit from the expertise and resources that business, entrepreneurs, families, industry, and organizations can provide.
